A cherry blossom photoshoot for Yoshino the canoe

April 5, 2024

Concrete Canoe team shows off their new cherry blossom-inspired canoe, Yoshino, amongst the UW's famous blossoms.

At the end of March, amidst the peak bloom of the Quad’s cherry blossoms, the UW Concrete Canoe team showcased their 2024 canoe named Yoshino. The canoe was inspired by the cherry blossoms that grace campus every year. Featuring detailed cherry blossom stain work and unique 3D elements, Yoshino serves as a testament to the team's engineering skill and creative vision.

After winning first place at the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Pacific Northwest Student Symposium in early April, the team will compete in the national competition at Brigham Young University in June.
