It’s no secret that CEE faculty excel at teaching − and the secret to success involves philanthropic support.

At a recent awards banquet hosted by The Beavers Charitable Trust, attended by more than 2,000 guests, an innovative partnership between UW CEE, the Beavers and longtime department supporters Tom (BSCE 1968) and Marilyn Draeger was highlighted via video.

This partnership supports not only an endowed professorship held by Steve Muench, but also a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor position held by Julian Yamaura, founded four years ago to teach construction engineering to undergraduates. This partnership model has worked so well for the Beavers that they have used it to support similar positions at nine other universities.
